i don't understand all the misconceptions about fabric cord vs plastic

fabric cord isn't a godsend and keeps your kandi immune from the elements and passage of time . it dryrots just the same as clear plastic cord

yes, fabric cord doesn't COMPLETELY fall apart but once it dryrots it is just a small bit of thread barely keeping your kandi together (which is STILL unwearable)

use whatever string you want. you'll have to remake some pieces in the future anyways so don't sweat it too hard lol 4.gif

real! Everybody says, oH dOnT uSe PlAsTiC sTrInG yOuR KaNdI wIlL dRy RoT!!!! But Fabric elastic litterally does the same thing. Just use what string you like kao happy PLUSSS most fabric elastic cord is thick which makes it tighter and you'll outgrow it sooner. In my opinion, my stretch magic over here is the goat kao mad

@pocketcosmic: yea I use different diameter elastic, based on what im making

Ex: 0.7 for singles, stars, panels or stuff that doesn't need to be stretched as much; 0.5 for cuffs awesome1

Its a really common thing in hobby communities for someone to hear guidance and turn it into gospel. Clear stretch cord breaks down somewhat faster when constantly stretched, like in a single or multistitch cuff. It requires stretching beforehand and may need glue to keep a knot. The benefits come from lower cost, thinner diameter, resistance to fraying, and not showing in clear or translucent beads. These are factors to keep in mind when making a decision on materials, but in the end either can be useful in certain scenarios. But nuance doesn't spread as fast as simple always/never statements.
