I'm going to be starting to make perler creations very soon and I'm looking for tips, help, or just plain advice on what to do and what not to do before I jump into making perlers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. kao happy

Here is a recent Thread.

Get good peg boards. I also recommend getting parchment paper because it works on perler bead creations just as well as the paper that comes with the perler beads themselves. I get a roll of parchment paper because you can make the paper as long or short as you want. Also, don't take the paper off the beads right away after ironing, when it cools off it should pop off on its own and when it does you can then take the creation off the peg board. Make sure you iron the creation evenly!!rainbowsmile

I also know that using the masking tape method works great with big or small perler projects, but usually the beads don't stay in place if they aren't stuck to the tape but ti can be easily fixed. I've seen two or three perler artist on Twitch use the masking tape method and it works really well for them and I was thinking about trying it when I start my first perler project, which will probably be soon. I really appreciate the advice and the help, but I'm always looking for advice since I'm definitely new to perler making.

Second to the tweezers! Definitely make sure you use parchment paper, otherwise disaster! Don't use too high of a heat over a large area of pegboard, or else you might warp that board and that usually permanently misshapes it.

Getting the interlocking sets of four boards is great because you can make much bigger versions, or just buy a huge pegboard (I have one that's 2 feet by a foot) That way you can make small things or a huge thing and not worry about running out of space.

Count your borders! Make sure you have enough room before starting something bigger. It's a pain to run out of space and have to start over.

Start small and don't worry about how complicated things are. :3 I personally like ironing both sides because then a piece is less likely to break.
