A lot of people have already said things so Imma put something new.

IRON. BOTH. SIDES.

I know it comes down to preference, but when you Iron both sides it breaks a lot less easy

heyy! i got my perler bead kit at amazon! its really really good! its called kuman perler kit! i have the one thats like 48? colours? or 28 idk i dont remevber but its really good! it comes with tweezers although i dont use cause they kinda cheaply made i just use my hands its kinda faster for me.. you also need a iron and make sure you have heavy flat objects to put above your perler so it dosent warp! and also about the kit it also has reusable iron paper and its kinda plasticly? idk how to describe it but i like it way way wayyyyy more then regular iron paper because the reuseable iron paper has a smoother surfaceeeeee. Some other online stores to buy perler beads products is the perler website itself, shien, temu, aliexpress, michaels and basically any online store. I had to restock some colours from other places other then amazon but it works out finee. One thing to note is that some colours melt differently then others under the iron!

-In my opinion the only things you NEED need to make perler beads are: an iron ofc, the perler beads, the pegboard, iron paper, heavy flat objects like books to put above the design, and the tweezers (based on your preference) other things arent really that necessary

i really hope this helps im still new to the perler community but i have been doing it for a few months now

i reccomend using tweasers, theyre green small little tweasers i got mine at hobby lobby, if you use your hands your more likely to knock over beads, hope this helps eyeroll

i prefer using like a cricut heat press over an iron but that’s just personal preference and either works

i agree with what people have already said!! but i 100% recommend not mixing different brands, (artkal and perler) keep them seperated!!! they melt differently so ur perler stuff will look wonky cry

most craft stores have perler beads so like joann and stuff, also make sure that when you iron the beads you put parchment paper or something similar in between the beads and the iron so that the beads dont stick, also when you iron the perler, try for a low/medium heat and move the iron in circles and every now and then lift the parchment paper to make sure its ironing evenly. theres also tutorials and videos with perler tips on youtube :p

get a bead pin! they're great for starting out a pattern and laying down the biggest color sections :0 don't recommend for smaller areas though xp

You'll need an iron and baking paper as well as the beads and boards. If you want to do big or detailed things, I reccommend getting tweezers
