Kandi Bag Help

koopaflower 7/9/2015 06:20 pm 1743

So I just turned one of my big cuffs into a bag, but I haven't added the straps yet. I wanted to know what string should I use for the straps? I want to make the straps myself, or I could purchase straps seperately.

But what type of string should I use? I was going to double up on .8mm stretch elastic cord, and my mom suggests that we use metal wire. What have you guys used?

I appreciate all and any comments regarding the topic! pichuwatermelon

(Little late) if you're making your straps out of beads by doing a peyote stitch (just like how you would make a belt), I'd recommend fishing line. The bags I have done have held up nicely. If you're just going to make straps not made from beads, I'd suggest going to Home Depot or any other home improvement store. They sell strapping similar to kind you would find on any kind of school backpack (I spend a lot of time in there for my dad's job, Home Depot actually has a ton of things you can use for kandi). Fabric stores also carry the same kind of strapping in more diverse colors, however, it is usually more expensive. soot sprite

@jamie_rebekka: My mother had found some ribbon in the house, and I used that and the strap is nice and firm happy

Thanks for your suggestion on using ribbon! togepi
