IMPORTANT USER POLL! Re: deleting messages

As it is right now, if you delete a single message or message thread, it deletes it from the other user's account too! I would not have designed it this way but our message system is based off of an old plugin 2.gif

Do you like that it works this way or should I change it? Here are some ways I could change it:

Keep it as it is now: any messages you delete will also be removed from the other user's inbox, and any messages the other user deletes will be removed from yours.Change it so other users can't delete messages from your inbox (and you can't delete messages from theirs either)

There are other improvements I could make... for example, adding a "Trash" folder where you can see deleted messages and permanently delete them or restore them to the inbox. Or I could add an option to edit messages after they've been sent but not read.

I think we should only be in control of deleting our own messages in our own mailboxes.. but maybe adding an edit option like you mentioned may help if people still want to change something about the messages they have already sent!

@DesiiFronzak: That's how I feel too. I am just worried that people have gotten used to being able to delete messages in that way. If/when I do change it I will have to put some alerts up.

We should be able to delete messages without them being deleted from the other person's account.
