Selling kandi for supply money?

Deleted Account 6/14/2012 11:35 am 2294

Ive heard a lot about people selling kandi to people who don't understand what kandi is. They say if its just a bracelet to that person it doesn't matter as long as they use the money for supplies. I'm kind of bothered by this. What is everyone else's opinion? I mean I understand where they're coming from but still. Opinion?

I have sold Kandi to friends and strangers, I never sell singles but if someone wants a lot of singles it is still beads and string which is still money, I don't have a job so for now selling kandi to people who want it is all i've got. But also pretty much all the money I get from selling is for supplies, so selling kandi to get stuff to make more kandi is kind of just spreading more love. Because when I sell I tell the meaning of kandi and I have inspired a few people to make their own so once they do i will start trading with them, but for now I know one person who makes, and everyone else buys.

I would...if I was desperate for money.

I would never sell my kandi, I'm too attached to it...but if it gets too expensive for me to keep buying it then I would most likely trade with another maker but ask them to give me some supplies instead.

I think selling bigger things is kind of okay but only because supplies isn't cheap and the bigger things tend to 'eat up' beads and string... I also think selling for a charity is completely fine because honestly it's helping others and someone may not value that peice of kandi as much as a 'kandi kid' (since most aren't even kandi kids, just kandi makers) but they are helping another person/group

I sell kandi! Cuffs, bras, masks really anything except singles. I think singles have more meaning compared to cuffs because a lot of people have the same cuffs lol I even trade with a lot of people who I used to sell to who have learned to make stuff themselves. It's completely fine with me obviously and even before I started selling I've never had a problem with it. The way I see it is that you're still making the kandi with the same amount of love when you're making kandi at any time so I don't think it's "against PLUR"

I agree with vackuum and VeronikaLynn. I have people from school asking me all the time which was hard. I had each person give me a dollar so I could buy the beads. And that's only because I had to my dad was getting mad about it so I told him id try, which I didn't like. And yeah, selling to strangers makes sense.

I think it's wrong selling kandi, no matter what.

I guess it could be considered alright in some cases. I mean, supplies aren't cheap. I was the only one at my school with kandi so everyone came to me wanting some, and what they don't realize is everyone is asking me. I just can't afford to give out all my kandi and not get any back.xD so what I do, is if someone wants something, they buy the supplies and i'll make it.

Very true(: like I said I agree its their decision but then again if it is tradeables it is different. Things like purses and stuff are okay.
