Making posable tail out of kandi

TweakFlow 7/28/2024 09:17 pm 1081

so im making a tail for a cosplay & i need some help figuring out what to put inside of the tail to make it posable. It's already flexible, but it wouldn't stay in a certain position if it wasn't bent. anyone have ideas for a material i could use to achieve this? 5148b8c8a7991_confused.gif

@alchemera: i'd use wire then sew a tail to put the beaded panels around, i think that'd make it more stable

u could put a metal wire inside? like attach it it to either the strands or the panels depending on how u made it, if u wanted, you could even put beads on it?

Wire is definitely the way to go. I've made fursuits for about 11 years and have made a few tails like this (just covered in fur instead of being made of beads, same concept) and I've found a very important factor to being able to pose them with any portions that are more upright, having a solid base that runs through a belt is very important. Wrapping the wire around the base & belt loops stabilizes it against your body better to help keep it up. Just something to keep in mind if you haven't considered it yet!

if you have them, a metal coat hanger would be a very thick kind of wire! if you can't do that, then try stuffing it with fluff

all I can think of is metal wire just like the last person said. you may need really thick wire depending on the size of the tail though
