it's a peyote stitch.

you start it at the widest part of the pattern. in the past i've also assembled them in multiple pieces, kind of like a puzzle, because it was easier for me to visualize.

^^ this video has some basic information that might help you understand how to interpret the pattern better, but it doesn't show them actually making it.

^^ this video shows the actual process of making the charm, although it is hard to see at some parts. they don't mention a pattern in the video (at least not that i saw while skimming it), but it seems to be from this pattern: https://kandipatterns.com/patterns/characters/chee...

hope this helps! good luck with your charm!!

most flat charms i’ve seen are peyote stitch- so very similar to peyote cuffs but ofc in some kind of shape

it might be helpful to watch peyote charm tuts on yt! even if its not for the specific design u wanna make they can help if ur not super comfortable with the stitch yet :3!

also something useful to know is to make the widest part of the charm first! its very difficult to add beads to the side of a charm after most of its done kao sick

It depends on the pattern but if its not the typical peyote or multi stitch template then its probably ladder stitch since this website doesn't have that as a specific option but the perler template works for making patterns for ladder stitch

but if its a peyote or multi stitch template then its def supposed to be peyote or multi stitch

also what I mean by template is the way the little boxes that represent beads or perlers are on the pattern ykwim
