how do you fill in an area on the pattern maker

ive been on this site alot more and messing around with the pattern maker but im wondering if theres an easier/faster way if you wanted to start out with the whole template a certain color or fill in an area thats closed.

You can't fill in an area that's closed, but you can start out with a colored background. To do that, select a color, then click the Rows/Cols button. Choose the pattern type and size you want, and check the box that says "Fill with current color." Then click "generate" I have made a brand new pattern maker that has a lot of improved features, including a paint bucket (to fill in closed areas). It's currently being tested by a few users and I am recoding parts of it to make it more stable. It's funny you should ask this right now actually because I was working on the pattern maker when you posted this question.
