Odd count is for when the cuff has an odd number of rows. Even count is for when the cuff has an even number of rows. Even count is easier to do. Your heart cuff has an odd number of rows - 13 rows. I recommend that you remove the top row so it has an even number (12). That will make it easier since it's your first time doing peyote stitch.
