Can you shorten a belt?

I have completed my first kandi belt. I used a ladder stitch so i can make a pac man pattern. I thought i measured everything correctly but when i strung on the buckle its too lose. Can i fix this?

You can but it's not the easiest thing in the world to do. You have to take off the buckle and then take off a row or two (that depends on how big it is) and then add the buckle back on to it. Hope that helped!
