@Lord_Cookie: I've had a look at the code and it looks to me like I never finished the message deletion feature. It's only letting you delete messages which you've sent. It's weird because I can see that some of the code is set up for it. It's just not finished. Maybe I got distracted?! It must have been like this for about 10 years!

Then I have an override in the code which lets me (literally just me) delete everything. That's why I had never noticed it wasn't working; it works for me

This will be a weekend job unfortunately. It's not something I can quickly fix and I have limited time during the week. It might even take multiple weekends to fix it because I think there's quite a lot that needs to be changed for this to work.

Thank you. Are you deleting individual messages which you sent in a message thread, or are you deleting from the message index/inbox screen using the checkboxes and “delete selected” option?

I’m not sure if you’re using one or both of those deletion options from what you’ve said.

That’s not good Please message me with some examples of messages you couldn’t delete - the subject lines. If you could also try deleting them right before you send the message that would be helpful because then I can check the error logs. It’s not a global issue because I can see other people deleting messages and I can delete them as well.
