Not all are queer but:

Bad Religion (90s melodic hardcore)
The Offspring (but mostly older stuff, skip L.A.P.D. from Ignition. As well as most of Splinter. Somehow I havent heard Conspiracy Of One so no judgement on that. ) (punk rock, 90s. modern is pop-punk with heavy autotune.)
Against Me! (Laura's super cool, women led) (i dont remember genre)
AFI (older stuff is punk-rock / horror punk)
Atari Teenage Riot(not exactly punk-rock but theyre hardcore)
Evanescence (gothic/nu metal.)
Halestorm (some sort of metal or rock i dont remember. I LOOOOVE Love Bites (So Do I) and Freak Like Me)
In This Moment (modern nu metal, some electronic elements. I LOOOOVE Blood and Black Widow and Beautiful Tragedy and Mother (caution for innuendos / direct explicitish lines))
Leathermouth (hardcore punk)
Meshuggah (djent / death metal)
Motionless In White (metalcore, 2010s and modern)
Rage Against The Machine (I forget the name of their genre but pretty classic punk band)
Rise Against (modern melodic hardcore)
Sum 41 (90s/00s punk rock/pop punk)
System of a down (metal / heavy metal / punk metal I think)

And that's what I've got just from a quick look through my music library! I'm don't know shoot about any drama or controversy so idk anything on that end sorry lol.
