A couple of people (I think you’re one of them) have wanted to submit text/stories, and I’m iffy on that because it’s not a great idea to have text as an image for many reasons (inaccessible, can’t be indexed for search purposes, and most people are also expecting to see visual crafts in that section). We already have a lot more art than I was expecting. I kind of wish I’d done Other Crafts and then Art.

I have been thinking about it and I think a better solution for writing would be to have a forum category for Writing, and posts in that category (or possibly even all your forum posts) would appear on your profile like your photos do. I may not show Writing posts in the newest threads section depending on how many we get, but I could link it from another menu as well.

At the moment I’m not accepting any writing into Photos because if I do this Writing category, I don’t want the writing split across different site areas. It’s the same reason I try to remove patterns from the photos section. It makes things difficult to navigate and find.

What do people think of having a forum category for writing? I could name it something else if there’s a better name for it. I would like to have an idea of how many people want this though. I’m not sure about adding a whole new site area for two people. Do other people have things they’d like to share?
