So i'm in d&d club at school, and they are teaching the new players how to play--but is there anything I should know? We're hopefully starting the campaign on tuesday (we meet once every other week)

Here's my character sheet if that helps: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/89105290

You, have summoned me!

I'm not sure what you are (due to the website being blocked on my computer)

But, when I was first starting out, I was worried that ill needed to buy everything, all you need is a notebook & some dice, and even then you can borrow some dice from a friend or club member!

Don't worry about the rules, they get broken all the time, tbh they are there to get broken!, it's the role-playing game of your dreams. Hell even the most experienced players don't know all the useless rules

Make sure you like your character, and love it, like an oc! because you are most likely going to be that character for a bit

its also good to stay focused and engaged, it's hella hard for me but I talked to my dm and asked if I could bring some fidgets to help me stay on track, and they said it was fine!, ask your dm if you have problems being focused and stuff

And, last but not least, give it time!! i was hella lucky when i clicked in my first dnd story, but they're all different! There's much, and much more out there!, there's even stuff online! So, give it time, and if you don't like the one their host, thats fine!

So thats all the tips i got! Hope this helps!
