Why don't ppl like scenecore? /gen

So like I know the difference between scene and scenecore and I consider my aesthetic to be more scenecore-leaning. I understand that some scenecore ppl/things are toxic but thats true in any group, yk?

theres nothing wrong with the style itself but people confuse it for actual scene when they almost nothing alike rainbowsmile

@Shaggy2_Dogg: genuinely, that's why i like it rainbowsmile that's my vibe. although if this is supposed to be a jab, gir is in fact actually part of scene iconography!

there’s nothing wrong with scenecore, but many people don’t like it cause it made itself in scene’s image while having nothing to do with music, lifestyle, and also the fashion is clearly a lot different!! I think they’re allowed to dislike it as long as they’re respectful abt it ^_^

coming from an ex scene kid-

scenecore is scene but mixed with the 2020 tiktok alt stereotype if that makes sense. @sparklysatyrcat made a comment with a bunch of images below mine that are great examples of this. tbh, you should dress however u want BUT you really shouldn't call yourself a scene kid if you just decorate your stuff with a bunch of glitchy hatsune miku pics /hj

Image comparison of scenecore and the scene subculture

SCENECORE:

This is scenecore!

this is scenecore

This is scenecore

this is scenecore

this is scenecore

This is scenecore

THIS IS SCENE:

this is scene

This is scene

this is scene

this is scene

this is scene

this is scene

this is scene

Also- just to add- there's nothing wrong with either of these! You dress how you dress and like what you like, and that's okay. C:

OKay so- scene is the subculture, the aesthetic, the original- developed in the 2000s and it's not just about edits and tik toks, it was about dressing scene, being confident, not giving a flying fuq abt ppl'z opinionz!!

It was basically a way to express yourself in a bright and colorful way, telling "preps" that you're you, and you're proud of it-- or at least, that's how i see it!

Scenecore is just kinda edits. It feels watered down, and rather than being a lifestyle or belief, it's just an aesthetic people use to decorate their profiles, etc, ya know?

I have a personal thing against scene kids being called "scenecore" because I've been confused with the cringy "scenecore" kids on tik tok, and i have been made fun of and basically bulied bcuz of this. I can eloaborate but basically, one is a lifestyle and a subculture, showing that you are who you are and u dont give a sh1t about what people think! The other is an aesthetic and a clothing style, kidna of watered down. I can give image examples if you want!

I consider myself a scenekid rather than a scenecore person because of this-- because for me, it's not just an online aesthetic, it's a way to express myself and enjoy myself. <3

However there's nothing wrong with either! I sometimes make lil scenecore gifs and decorate my online profiles as such, but I also dress and act similar to a scene kid! Hope this helps ya!
