does anyone know good ways to learn ASL?

hihi!! there's a hard-of-hearing kid in my science class, he seems really cool and I've seen him watching youtubers/playing games I like & wearing merch of youtubers I like!! I really wanna be friends but I don't know any ASL 513b55c71219e_kao_cry.gif

he has an interpreter with him at all times that can communicate for me, but I wanna make her job a little easier by at least learning basic ASL <3

please give tips on how to learn!! or like, links to youtube tuts or something 4.gif

hi wil!! I checked our schools library page and they have a few books on basic ASL hkbear Also one of our local libraries has a group for learning ASL hkheart

Check out Bill Vicars on youtube! He posts videos of himself teaching ASL to his students, & you can kind of study alongside them. One thing that I really like about his videos is that you can learn from common mistakes that his students make, that you may not have known you were doing incorrectly. He has tons of different videos dedicated to different topics as well, so you can study specific words or phrases that will be relevant to you ^__^

im in an asl class and we watch a lot of videos and learn from a textbook! you can also just watch the interpreter to pick up on some basic signs or ask her to explain some basic signs!!

im still learning asl but i usally watch yt videos of convos of asl and like slow it down and stuff

id join an asl club (if theres one at ur school) If not, theres this app called "pocket asl" that i use where u can search up any word and you'll get the asl sign. Best of luck to you!

Sometimes I just like save photos of gestures for certain things, you could probably ask the interpreter to show you a few basic things though
