Ok ok ok so ik a lot of people identify with xenogenders and I'm bungender too but can I just ask: what's the point of them? Weren't they originally made to mock trans folks..? I have nothing against them, I'm just curious what the point is. And also like, why do they count as genders when they're more like personalities? Anyway :/ no hate from me, just curious ^^

I think it was neopronouns that were originally made to mock trans people but then trans people reclaimed them (Moreso pronouns like Bun/Pup/Kit and not ones like ae/aer which have been around longer)

and xenogenders were made as a means to convey gender without relying on the gender spectrum. Intended for people who experienced things like delusions or had autism but then its of course expanded so that everyone can use them (Still mainly intended for autistic or neurodivergent people).

Also its up to the person to decide if something counts as a gender even if its more personality-wise, I view labels as whatever makes you happy as long as you dont intend to mock/harm /gen wink

the "xenogenders were made to mock trans people" is a rumor!! the serious ones were made for and by autistic people to be able to better express their gender since they often experience gender in a different way than allistics ^^ they r also not personalities at all, im not sure where u got that from? /nm thanks for asking!! ^^ kao tongue

they were actually made by autistic people!! (or so ive heard?) theyre used because we often find the concept of gender hard to understand (at least it is to me), so things like neos really help us :] (also why im kinda iffy with neurotypical people using them unless they have permission because they were made for us by us but thats not the point)

its for nurodivergent people to express their gender better but anyone can use them respectfully
