@gasky: Yes I would also say it's interesting that we started using you instead of thou, even though thou was more popular. Also I think that it's interesting that only a country, and maybe some people out of it, could spread the english language to America and it got to the 3rd most popular language -Opal

@boogiewoogiekandi: my focus is osteology/biological anthropology but also archaeology. linguistics is way too hard for me but its certainly fascinating to learn fun facts about. like the reason in english we say "you" and moved away from using both "thou" and "you" is because the quakers pushed for everyone to use thou out of politeness and ppl were so annoyed they exclusively used you in order to distance themselves from them
