I just wanna say I am sorry for posting so much threads. I am just trying to get used to this site. I am also not in the best places.

But I was watching SvTfOe and I noticed something.

So it was the episode where Star uses the Whisper Spell on her wand to save Marco from the scum bag Toffee.

When Marco's parents find out that Marco is gone they call the cops.

When Star tells the cop what has happened, he bends down, hands on his knees (like you would do when talking to a little kid) and starts talking to Star in a baby voice. Saying things like "oh you have to be really careful with magic little girl" (Not exact quotes) DESPITE THE FACT SHE IS CLEARLY 14. And Star seems really uncomfortable by this. Even saying "See, he wouldn't get it" (Not exact quotes) after the cop leaves.

This really screamed ABELISM because I get that stupid baby voice from adults alot. I only like when people talk to me in a baby voice when Im in little space and it isn't adults doing it. Which, me being in little space is very rare.

And talking to disabled (mainly autistic people) people in baby voices is like textbook defenition of abelism.

Also, the fact that it was A COP in that scene really stood out to me. Because yes its true, cops sometimes don't believe disabled people when they say something is wrong. Thats because sociotey is taught (sublimionaly not out right) that we should listen to the caregivers of disabled people and NOT disabled people.

Like one time my autistic non vocal friend was in pain her caregivers where all like "Oh she is just saying that to get out of class) and it turns out she sprained her ankle.

Thats my little essay. And yes I feel much better after writing this. cheer
