@V4MP1RE_GUTZZ: YA I WAS SO CONFUSED LMAO like I'm not punk or anything but I have a vague idea of what crust punk is and I saw "Wash your pants, no aestheticizing poverty here!" and was like "BUT--"

@fig: well it’s to pay homage to the original crust punk scene. It was a common thing in the community to participate in voluntary homelessness. Dirt and grime in general was just part of the look after a while since so many crust punks were, well, crusty. A lot of the time because of the poor quality of sewing used on crust pants (and the use of nails, safety pins, chains, soda tabs, and more) they’re just impossible to wash without fucking up. I’ve owned my crust pants for about 6 months and haven’t washed them fully since I’ve made them. They’re gonna get ruined. /nm

@V4MP1RE_GUTZZ: if youre not homeless or impoverished keeping pants dirty because you think they look nice is kinda weird, that's just my opinion and I don't really care what you do lol

@V4MP1RE_GUTZZ: so washing punk clothes really depends on the garment, butttt something I do to clean mine is: I fill a bath or with cold water, put a TINY bit of laundry soap like a teaspoon and I flip the garment inside out take of all the metal ofc fut the pant in water and gently swoosh them around n the water for a few seconds then take em out it works better if u can use a shower n rinse em off but if not that's okay, then you leave them out to air dry n flip em back n touch up any patches that need it

I hope this helped lol, all my paint n stuff has stayed pretty well n I use acrylic and marker so yeah

@NAGITOONTHEDS: theyre pants worn by punks/punx covered in patches (that r commonly band n political related but can b anythin u want rly) mostly, but ppl add "garbage" like soda can tabs, safety pins, chains, lighter hoods, bottlecaps, nails/screws,,, anythin u find on the ground rly lol, theyre called crust pants cuz well, mostly crust punx wear em but also cuz the amount of patches n shit they literally cant b washed w out bein destroyed LMAO so they get rly dirty overtime

tried explaining to the best of my ability, if u still don't get it i can send links to posts/videos goin more in depth abt it but yeah

tl;dr literally dirty ass pants worn by punks covered in patches n usually random things they find on the ground
