Ya for sure umm if your makeing the pattern for the base cuff you put 2 of one color lets say green on then 1 of another lets say blue and do that till you have either 27 beads or 30 beads or 33 beads I would recommend 30 then tie it off and it 1 green then a blue then a green and string it threw your blue this will make a half of an x so go around 3 more times? not sure but you want 2 x's tie it off when you've reached that far then get this is this tricky here I'll post somethings that helped me out a little http://kandipatterns.com/kandi-tutorials/kandi-cuff-tutorial
