Kandi_Kit, to figure out how big a cuff is (approximately), do this: - Multiply the number of columns by the width of your bead - Multiply the number of rows by the height of your bead If you're using 6x9mm pony beads, that would come out to 204mm around and 144mm tall. Converted into inches that's 8.03" around and 5.67" tall. Everyone's definition of a "big guy" is a bit different, so it's hard to know what to advise. I had a boyfriend who was 5'9" 160lbs - about average build, maybe slightly on the larger size. He needed 34 beads around for cuffs that only went around his wrist. This cuff goes up higher than that, so it would need to be bigger. I probably would have made it about 36-38 for him. Based on that, I think your guy would probably need at least 40 beads around, possibly much more depending on how "big" he is. You can make this pattern bigger by adding an even number of columns to it and continuing the stripe pattern.

How big does this turn out? I was planning on making this as a surprise for a friend and I don't know how big his forearm is exactly but I know he's a big guy?

Very good advice from Mawnsturr. You should be doing that for every cuff you make.

I love this pattern so much. Unfortunately it doesn't fit on my forearm since my forearm isn't big enough and the cuff is too small for my bicep. I had to find that out the hard way. For those making this; double check the size and where you plan on wearing it so you don't have to cut apart a personalized masterpiece that took you 6 hours. Saves a lot of hassle <3

"HalesGolob": Could I use a even peyote stitch to make this flat/poster like? yes!(:

Has Anyone Tried This Pattern And Seen If It Actually Came Out Right? I Tried Yesterday and Was having Difficulties. :/

BlueHook, possibly. Try it and see? I personally would never do a design this large on a ladder because I find that the beads don't stick together well enough. Square stitch would give you about the same bead layout though.

Whooaa...... it's really weird, but i actually made a pattern for the same thing seperately from you and made a cuff for it. Then I came here and saw this and just thought, "huh, what a coincidene"
