Robin, just so you know, it's not the users who number patterns. It's the website that numbers them, and it normally doesn't add numbers to these panels. The reason for that is that people assume the numbers are showing them how to make the piece - that they need to follow the pattern in that order - and for flat panels the numbering can't be followed to make the piece. It has caused a lot of confusion and frustration for people in the past, so we decided it was better to leave the numbers off for patterns where the numbers can't be followed. However, there is a way you can add numbers yourself. Click the pink "Copy to designer" button below the pattern, then open the pattern in the pattern maker. In the pattern maker there's a button you can press which will add the numbers. Then you can download the numbered version to your computer. This will work for any panel pattern that isn't numbered
