cutiey, it's different depending on whether the pattern was made in BeadTool like this one, or the designer. for this one I pasted in the rows/columns and the bead counts. For both the designer and BeadTool patterns, I made a script that then converts the bead counts into boxes of color. I can also calculate the rows/columns automatically, but that method isn't being used by the designer patterns right now which is why they're sometimes off. this is all done on the backend of the site; it's not something you could do for any of your uploaded photos or patterns.
