alyssa, click on the pattern and you'll see the numbers start from bottom to top. that's how most people do it.

Unknown, below the pattern it says "do you want to learn how to make this?" with links to tutorials. It's not a tutorial for this specific one, because all the patterns on this site are made in the same way and I can't possibly have individual tutorials for over 1000 patterns.
