my older german cousin got me into trance and such when i was 13 took me to my first rave at14 an that was at the end of the 90's, but they and alot of their friends brought alot of that culture here earlier on and americans have always been quick to adopt counter culture ideals/movements so im not suoprised. the rave fam i had at first had ppl raving since the early 90's and for the most part they thought everything from kandi and glowsticking to dj'ing but the history of the culture has always been kinda foggy, and it doesnt help every scene has its own history to it

I just read that PLE was mainly used in Europe in the early 90s, so maybe it was PLE in Europe and PLUE in America. That doesn't explain why old-school American ravers knew about PLE though, weird.

"Crumpet": Was it PLUE or PLE? PLE is what I've always been told and even Wikipedia knows about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PLE. Maybe they were both used? I wasn't raving in the early 90s so I don't know firsthand sad I thought it was Peace Love Unity Ecstasy?

beads have been around forever and a day but; Kandi used to b the word for drugs at parties, those who sold/traded started wearing them as a way to not only identify one another but a bright colorful cuff against ur skin can b fun when ur rolling/high. these folks became the first kandi kids and they followed P.L.U.E

This is so cute. I wish I had the attention span, beads and skills to make something like this. I envy your kandi making skills.
