Changing website colors?

I'm planning on updating the site design a bit. It will still be mostly the same because I don't confuse everyone, but I want the colors to be easier on the eyes and I want to make more room for the content. I'm attaching a photo of what I have for it so far. Do you agree that these colors are better or do you hate them?

I love the idea, But I agree with Killer, it would be much epicer if the Food one was purple.

Just saying. :3 It would suit the site more.

I think maybe the "Food" one would look better in a purple?

I just didn't want to change it to something that everyone hated. uNIveRsE_jeWsE, that's what the drop down on the top is for that says View pattern type

I might make it bigger or into buttons again, but I realized that it makes more sense to have it as a drop down because buttons make it seem like you can select more than one, and you can't. I also plan on adding them onto the pattern category pages so you won't be able to miss them. Monarch, the repeating color was just to stick to the color scheme, but I might be able to make it a different color without it looking too crazy, since I've toned down the rest of it.

I like both. but this new one does seem a /little/ easier on the eyes color-wise. I might make the food category a different color though just to contrast characters better, but its not an actual issue

I like it except for the fact that there are no buttons to narrow down the types of patterns (fuse, peyote,multi, all) i'm not sure if you plan on keeping those buttons but i think they're really useful.
