There are a few different kinds of patterns on this site: multi stitch, peyote, and fuse bead. Multi stitch and peyote require beads and string. Most people on here use 6x9mm pony beads when making the patterns, but you can also use mini pony beads or seed beads. Just remember that if you're using smaller beads and making it as a bracelet, you'll need to add on more columns. Fuse bead patterns are made using special meltable beads called fuse beads (also known as hama or perler beads). To make those, you don't need string but you need a pegboard, some parchment paper and an iron. You place the fuse beads onto the pegboard, place the paper over the top, and then iron it to melt the beads together. Multi stitch will come out as a cuff bracelet. Peyote stitch will come out flat but can be joined together to be a bracelet. Fuse beads are normally done flat, but sometimes people turn them into 3D objects.

There's alot to learn, I'll try to help you as much as I can. Here's a link on how to make a cuff using a pattern, It uses hello kitty as an example, but you do the same thing with any other multi pattern. http://kandipatterns.com/kandi-tutorials/hello-kitty-cuff-tutorial If that's confusing, here's a video on the same thing: http://www.youtube.com/v/v9lR81owm-M&hl=en&fs=1 The only supplies you really need is a string you prefer, I would suggest string that stretches and isn't to thick, I usually use .5mm or .8mm, and pony beads. If you have any other questions, feel free to message me!
