My friend and I used pages from a magazine, not the best idea cause it stuck a little and the print transferred onto the perlers. Kinda cool but not preferred.

Isn't tracing paper parchment paper? if so then yes you can use it. NEVER USE WAX PAPER THE WAX PAPER WILL JUST MELT ONTO YOUR CREATION!!! either use your parchment paper or the paper that comes with the perler beads.

wax and ironing paper are your best bet parchment paper from the baking section of your supermarket might work. but tracing paper would probably just burn. sorry hun.
