Aluminum--or any kind of partially metal substance for that matter-- should never be microwaved. You run the risk of a)setting your microwave on fire or b)the microwave actually exploding. Do not try to dilute the smell with regular spray. It will smell even more burnt. If you have Febreeze use that, or open as many windows as possible. Make sure your microwave is not damaged. If your microwave is shot, keep in mind that this will affect how food cooks in there from now on. I hope this helps!

Try and burn some candles. That might help to explain any remaining smell. Vent the kitchen by opening windows and doors. These are just ideas

Omg! Well I'm glad that you weren't injured and it sounds like the kitchen and microwave weren't damaged? Can you open up some windows or leave doors open? Do you have any Febreze? If you have a hob, does the hob have an extractor fan that you can turn on? You are definitely not supposed to microwave any kind of metal, and aluminum foil is metal. You've learned a valuable lesson today! happy
