how do you upload an image to the pattern maker?

Sorry, you are unable to reply. If the thread is still open, you might have been blocked from commenting due to spam or abuse, or we might not have been able to verify that you are a real account. Try updating your profile and interacting more on the site. There are greater restrictions on forum comments due to spam. Spam comments will still not be published, even for verified accounts

You first need to host the photo on an image hosting site like http://imgur.com (no registration required) then copy the direct URL it gives you. The URL must end in .jpg, .gif or .png or it won't work. If the image is already on the Internet you can normally right click and copy the URL to it, but if that doesn't work you can save it to your computer and rehost it like I explained above.

Once you have the URL copied, click on the icon in the pattern maker toolbar which looks like a photograph with a plus icon, and paste in the URL and hit "Load." That will load it behind the pattern grid. Make sure your pattern grid is transparent so you can see the image… to make a transparent grid you should click the rows/cols button and generate a grid with specific dimensions.
